The Karl's explain, "Kaleidoscope patterns are as numerous, varied and fleeting as snowflakes. At the slightest movement the beautiful, radiant mirror image dissolves into a new unique composition of light, form and color. And each look through the kaleidoscope offers a different pattern to the admiring eye. We had the pleasure of visiting Monika and Ulrich in their studio the summer of 2006 in Buhlenberg, Germany. Their work has won several awards in the United States as well as Japan. They are thus highly respected kaleidoscope designers.
